Julien
Julien has spent the past eight years flying the A320 in France, developing deep operational knowledge and a clear, structured teaching style. His explanations focus on making complex Airbus concepts accessible and directly useful for trainees.

Hamish
Hamish has extensive Airbus experience, including six years on the A320 operating across the UK and Asia, and he now flies the A350 on long-haul routes. He brings practical flight-deck experience and a methodical approach to explaining systems, procedures, and failure management.

The Story Behind Type Rating Pro

From our early days in small GA aircraft to airline training, we’ve always used flight simulators as our most effective study tool. Even practising SOPs on a slow laptop running Microsoft Flight Simulator X helped us walk into the real sim more prepared than any set of manuals ever did. During our A320 type ratings, we were handed a USB full of thousands of pages of manuals and told to “learn it all.” A week later, we were expected to demonstrate everything perfectly in a simulator – we thought this was impractical.

In 2023, we started a YouTube channel, originally called Autopilots, to bridge that gap with simple theory slides and practical MSFS demonstrations. Over 4,000 trainees began using those videos as unofficial study companions, showing the need for something more structured and more immersive.

Type Rating Pro is our answer to that need, built from years of flying and sim practice to offer training that’s practical, affordable and genuinely useful.
